SILVER STAG Damascus steel is manufactured by
forge welding multiple layers of high carbon steels into a solid block
called a billet, (Silver Stag
contains 1095 & 15N20 high carbon tool steels). The billet is folded and
re-welded several times to produce layers, (Silver Stag = 150 to 300
layers). Patterns are created by manipulating the steel during the forge
welding process, then an acid is applied to high-light the pattern,
(Silver Stag
offers a random and twist pattern). The combination of layered hard and
soft steels creates blade flexibility, toughness, and produces invisible
serrations
on the edge that aid cutting. SILVER STAG Damascus blades are hand
forged in the Pacific Northwest and considered the best cutting blades
on the market. The series is manufactured with Deer, Elk, and Moose
antler crown burrs and tips. An up-graded, handmade laced leather sheath
is included.

SERIES
Features 1084 High Carbon Tool Steel. This
particular grade of steel is also used to manufacture commercial saw
blades and recognized for its
cutting and edge holding ability. The Slab Series blades are
heat-treated to 56 Rockwell Hardness. Many hunting guides and/ or
serious sportsmen
prefer a high carbon blade, due to the steels cutting characteristics
and ease to touch up in the field. The Slab Series knives are
manufactured with
elk or moose antler scales and pinned through the tang. A black Molly
gun barrel paint is baked into the blades to prevent corrosion. A
quality
leather sheath is included.
Features Elk or Deer antler tip or point
handles, offered in the top selling Crown Series blade designs. The
long, natural curve of the antler
creates a unique and attractive handle that naturally curves to the
contour of your hand. The Point Series knives are manufactured
with 440C
Steel blades, honed to a razor sharp edge. A quality leather sheath is
included.

TOOL STEEL SERIESSS
Features 1095 High Carbon Steel, also referred
to as "Cutlery Spring Steel". This particular steel is well known for
its use in manufacturing
commercial saw blades and recognized for its cutting and edge
holding ability. It hones to an unbelievable edge ( better than any
stainless steel),
retains its edge (better than most stainless steels), and easier to
sharpen, (compared to stainless steel). Please be aware that this steel
will discolor
over time and is susceptible to rust/corrosion. We recommend keeping the
blade oiled on a regular basis, but discoloration and/or rust will
not
affect the blade performance. Every style features Deer or Elk antler
crown burrs or Elk stick handles. The Tool Steel Series knives are
accompanied with a handsome laced old western style sheath. The 8" and 10"
Bowie Sheaths do not have snaps and are considered "Western
Shooting" era authentic.
